Seamless steel pipe quality inspection

1 chemical analysis

2 size and shape detection

Check the contents include: wall thickness, diameter, length, bend, ovality, and the blunt edge port slope angle and shaped steel cross-sectional shape.

3 surface quality inspection

Artificial visual inspection and non-destructive testing and inspection. NDT methods are many, such as: ultrasonic testing, eddy current inspection, magnetic particle inspection, magnetic flux leakage inspection, ultrasonic testing and electromagnetic penetrant. Each method has advantages and disadvantages.

Suitable for detection of surface or near-surface steel: eddy current inspection, magnetic particle inspection, magnetic flux leakage inspection, penetrant testing. Wherein the penetration testing is limited to the pipe surface defect inspection openings; magnetic particle inspection, magnetic flux leakage testing, eddy current testing only limited inspection of ferromagnetic material. Eddy current testing of point-like defects are more sensitive, the other crack detection sensitivity.

The ultrasonic flaw detection reaction on the surface of the steel pipe relatively rapid, qualitative analysis of the internal pipe, there are still some difficulties, and ultrasound is also limited by the shape of the steel and grain size.

4 chemical performance testing

At room temperature or a certain temperature mechanical performance test (tensile testing, toughness test, hardness test), hydraulic test and corrosion test (intergranular corrosion test, resistance to hydrogen cracking experiment -HIC, resistance to sulfide stress cracking test -SSCC).

5 steel process performance test

Including flattening test, ring tensile test, flaring test and curling, bending experiments.

6 metallographic analysis

Including low magnification and high magnification inspection.

7 OCTG thread parameter detection

Including coupling pattern detection, detection, and detection tube threaded pipe body and tighten the coupling after
